Increase the number of adults/youth who have access to places for physical activity as evidenced by an increase in one new/improved pedestrian infrastructure. This will be done by identifying an area within the County that needs improved access for all the ways people can get around without using a motorized vehicle – walking or biking, using mobility assistance devices (such as wheelchairs and scooters), buggies, skating or skateboarding, and more.
Reduce household food insecurity and hunger, increase vegetable consumption by people aged 2 years and older, and reduce the proportion of adults, adolescents and children with obesity. We will assist the Adams county Homeless Shelter in developing a community garden, specifically assisting clients and staff to install sustainable garden beds for vegetables, and possibly fruits, that will be used at the shelter.
We will increase the number of adults/youth who have access to places for physical activity as evidenced by an increase in one new/repaired park and playground. At a village to be determined, we will assist with installing new, inclusive play ground equipment.
Increase the proportion of adults, adolescents and children who have safe access to walk or bike to get to healthy foods.
